7:30 am Service
This is a service of traditional worship that takes place in the Chapel, that is typically about 70 – 75 mins long. Traditional Methodist hymns, accompanied by a beautiful pipe organ, are sung and a truly excellent choir offers an introit and anthem each week. Challenging and inspiring preaching, often based on the Revised Common Lectionary, is a distinctive feature. Communion is served most Sundays, to which everyone is warmly invited, regardless of whether you’re a member of the church or not.
9:00 am Service
This is a service of contemporary worship that takes place in the Hall, that is typically about 80 – 90 mins long. It includes a time of praise and worship led by the members of the KMC worship team, followed by a challenging and inspiring sermon that’s often based on the Lectionary readings for that week. Our children and teens participate in the first part of the service before moving off to their focused lessons. There is a spacious, well-equipped Cry Room immediately adjacent to the Hall for those with very young children, where the service can be followed on a screen. Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month to which everyone in attendance is warmly invited. Tea and coffee are served in the adjoining courtyard / Coffee Shop after every service.

10:00 am Service
This is a vernacular service conducted in isiZulu and isiXhosa, following the traditional Order for Morning Worship known as Umbedesho wemini yecawa, that includes the singing of prayers and creeds such as Siya kudumisa Thixo and Ndiya kholwa. Strong preaching in the Methodist tradition is another feature of this service, which is typically about 90 – 120 mins long. Communion is served once a month to which everyone in attendance is warmly invited.
Children & Youth
Our children and teens all meet in the Hall to worship together with their families for the first part of the 9 a.m. service before going to their various groups.
Babies & Toddlers
To the right of the hall, we have a spacious Tiny Treasures Room with comfortable seating, an en suite loo, and a changing station. There are plenty of toys and books, as well as weekly themed Bible story activities. The service can be followed on screen in the seating area.
Age 3 to Junior Primary
Children from age 3 to Junior Primary meet in the Godly Play Room. The door person will greet them before they come to sit in the circle with the storyteller. Parents are welcome to stay until their child is comfortable and settled. With Godly Play, the children are encouraged to listen fully to the story first with time for response and questions afterwards. They will then have the freedom to choose from a large variety of activities that will reinforce what they have learnt, before coming back to the circle for the ‘Feast’ (a snack that symbolises the practice of sharing Communion) as well as time for news, birthday celebrations and prayer. You can learn more about Godly Play here.
Senior Primary children
Senior Primary children meet next door in the Coffee Shop (by the kitchen). Themed lessons are specially created for them, which include a time of teaching followed by activities, such as crafts, drama or games that support what they have learnt.
Younger teens
Younger teens meet in one of the church offices where they can relax in an informal setting. They follow themed lessons, usually with a short video followed by a guided discussion and a time of prayer. They also have access to hot drinks from the office kitchen.
Older teens
Older teens, especially those who have completed the Confirmation Course, are encouraged to worship with their families and other adults in the 9 a.m. service in the Hall.
Music
KMC has a rich heritage of beautiful worship music. Diverse in music style, we offer traditional, contemporary and vernacular worship music at our various services.
At the 7:30 am service, you can expect to sing traditional hymns accompanied by the rich tones of the organ, and hear the choir offer its ministry in 4-part harmony.
At the 9:00 am service, worship is led by a team of musicians and singers. You can expect a vibrant contemporary worship experience, in which songs and prayers flow within a fairly free structure.
At the 10:00 am vernacular service, you will hear rousing hymn singing in isiZulu and isiXhosa with natural harmonies, physical movement and percussion adding a strong African flavour.
