Careways
This wonderful ministry cares for intellectually impaired young adults in day workshops. There are two facilities available at the moment: a daily workshop (Mon – Fri) on the KMC premises; and a workshop once a week (Wed) at the Siyanakekela Centre at the KwaNdengezi Methodist Church.

Children & Youth
‘Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.’ Proverbs 22:6
Our children and young people are a vital part of the life of our church. It is our desire that KMC will be a home away from home where deep and meaningful relationships are formed, and where children will grow to know that they are loved and valued by God through the nurture of our broader church family.
We know that to reach the heart of each child with God’s transformative Gospel and His Kingdom values, we also need to reach the heart of each parent. So our focus is to equip and encourage the whole family in multiple ways through teaching, events, community outreach and missions so that each family member can become a disciple that goes out to make more disciples.
Choir
The choir is an integral part of the worship at KMC. We meet for practice on Wednesdays at 17h30 at the church, usually for 1 hour, under the direction of Tony Olds (082 369 1057).
We sing at the 07h30 service, meeting at 07h10 (sharp!) for warm-up.
The KMC choir is a member of the UK-based Royal School of Church Music and as such participates from time to time in workshops, services in other churches and concerts, Val Dierkse (082 824 2194) is the choir secretary. We gladly welcome new members (particularly tenors!) so if you have an ear for music and are prepared to commit to regular practices come and join our warm and vibrant fellowship. Contemporary worship
This ministry is led by our contemporary worship director, Candy Brunsdon. She co-ordinates a team of around 20 people – musicians, singers, sound technicians and data projectionists. Together they provide a vibrant contemporary worship experience at the 9 am service. If you’d like to get involved in this ministry, please contact Candy through the church office.
Kairos
KMC is very involved in Kairos is an interdenominational Christian ministry which has a mission to bring Christ’s love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, and to assist in the transition to being productive citizens. Kairos is about servanthood.
Team members are Christian volunteers who are prepared to give of themselves in order to benefit those in need of Christ in their lives. The Residents (inside prison) and Guests (outside) are not necessarily Christian – but all are welcome. The motto of Kairos is “Listen, listen, love, love”, so the message is not heavy-handed but rather gentle and compassionate, with an emphasis on forgiveness.
KidZAid
KidZAid is a registered interdenominational Trust, committed to raising funds to assist AIDS orphans, vulnerable children and their caregivers. Established in 2004 in response to the AIDS epidemic, we have enjoyed the support of KMC for many years. The Trust currently supports three local crèches and 1000 Hills Community Helpers with monthly donations earmarked for nourishing meals and infant formula. Manyano NPO
The Kloof Women’s Manyano aims to provide a loving and caring community to destitute, homeless, abandoned, abused, and unemployed youth and adults; assisting them with skills development and growing their self-esteem in a Christian environment, as well as providing rehabilitation for those affected by substance abuse.
Meal Ministry
The aim of this ministry is to supply meals to those in our community who are experiencing difficulties of any sort, such as recent surgery, illness, loneliness, grieving a loss, or any other situation needing support. We have a team of people who keep our freezer stocked with meals so that we have immediate access to meals to deliver to those in need at all times. It is always a blessing to receive a cooked meal when experiencing any kind of difficulty.
Pastoral Care Team
The aim of this ministry is to care for those in need in our community. Our duties include visiting, contacting and supporting these people. Those in need include all who are suffering in any way at all, physical, emotional, grieving a loss, or just simply needing support. We also administer communion to folk who are housebound. We have various outreach projects into the community as well, designed to draw senior members of the community together in supportive gatherings and tea parties. Many people are really lonely and enjoy the opportunity to connect together.
WA
The Women’s Auxiliary has the motto – To know Christ and make him known. We meet twice a month – one to hear interesting speakers and the other to knit, sew, make cards etc. We have a number of organisations that we help. We also help to organise funeral teas as a form of practical support and care for those bereaved.

Maintenance team
From time to time, a group of men get together on a Saturday morning to tackle some basic maintenance issues on our church property (and solve all the world’s problems at the same time!) In addition to saving the church some money and helping to keep its buildings in tip-top shape, the fellowship and camaraderie enjoyed is always very rich. New volunteers are always joyfully welcomed. Contact the church office for more info.
